Two labourers' sons clear CA final exam in Surat

SURAT: Overcoming economic deprivation, a son of a labourer and another of a diamond polisher from the city, cleared the chartered accountancy (CA) final examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in their very first attempt, the results of which were declared on Monday.
Mehul Rana, 22, whose father is zari worker, missed being among the top 50 in the country in the CA final examination by just one mark. He scored 490 out of 800.
Dharmesh Munjani, 21, is son of a diamond polisher. He missed the rank by two marks. He had got 489 marks out of 800.
The ICAI also declared the results for common proficiency test. Twinkle Bhagaria from the city secured fifth rank in the country by scoring 183 marks.

Of the seven students from Surat who were among the top 50 in the country, six happen to be girls. The rankers are Deepa Agarwal, Anuradha Rathi, Monika Rathi, Priyanka Agarwal, Soumil Singhvi, Jyoti Rathi, Surbhi Miranaka and Jyoti Agarwal.
