National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar issued Rolling Advertisement for Faculty Posts - 2015. NIT Silchar invites Online Applications for appointment under 4 - tier system for various faculty positions for the post of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in various Departments. The last date for submission of application is 31st January 2015.

Professor	Rs. 37400-67000 AGP Rs. 10500/-	First Class Post Graduates with Ph. D. in relevant discipline and having consistently very good academic record. Experience -10 years after Ph. D or 13 years total [not counting Ph. D enrolment period] out of which 7 years are to be after Ph. D. At least three years to be at Associate Professor level in an institute of repute.
Associate Professor	Rs. 37400-67000 AGP Rs. 9500/-	First Class Post Graduates with Ph. D. in relevant discipline and having consistently very good academic record. Experience - 6 (six) years post Ph. D. or 9 (nine) years (not counting Ph. D. enrolment period) out of which 3 (three) years post Ph. D. and 3 (three) years at the level of Assistant Professor with AGP of Rs. 8000/- or equivalent in a reputed university, R&D Lab or relevant industry.
Assistant Professor	Rs.  15600 - 39100 with AGP of Rs. 8000/- for regular and Rs. 7000/- & Rs. 6000/- for contract in various Departments.	First Class Post Graduates with Ph. D. in relevant discipline and having consistently very good academic record. Experience - 3 (three) years post Ph. D. or 6 (six) years after M. Tech. Not counting Ph. D. enrolment period in teaching / research / industry [for AGP Rs. 8000/-]; 1 (one) year post Ph. D [for AGP Rs. 7000/-].

Vacancy Departments: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management Studies.
