Centre firm on removing German

The Union government stood firm in its decision to replace German with Sanskrit in Kendriya Vidyalyas, saying students have the option to continue learning German as an “additional subject or a hobby course.”


In an affidavit filed before the Supreme Court on Thursday, the Commissioner of KVS dismissed suggestions that introduction of Sanskrit in Classes 6 to 8 would cause students “undue pressure or stress.”
